Let’s Talk About the Fear of Delegating.
You’ve built something amazing. I know it might not always feel that way; especially when you’re stuck doing admin, catching up on all those replies, and creating yet another Canva graphic, but the truth is, your business is growing because of all the hard work and hours you’ve put in.
And yet you’re tired, stretched thin, and thinking:
“I know I need help… but what if they don’t do it like I do?”
If that thought has crossed your mind and you’re not sure what the next step is, you’re not the only one.
The idea of handing over part of your business; even just a simple task, can feel really hard. Because this isn’t “just a business.” When I say I understand why you’re hesitant to delegate, I mean it. It’s normal to feel protective when you’ve poured your time and energy into it.
Doing It All Doesn’t Mean Doing It Right.
You didn’t start your business to become your own admin assistant, content scheduler and tech support, all rolled into one. When you try to do it all, things can start to slip. But I promise: letting go doesn’t mean lowering your standards, giving away control or settling for “good enough”.
Here’s What Delegating Can Actually Look Like.
- You can hand off repetitive, time-consuming tasks with clear guidelines.
- You can approve, tweak, or give feedback until it feels like you.
- You can still lead; but now you’ll have more time to breathe.
And guess what? A good Virtual Assistant, like me, wants to make sure everything you delegate is carried out exactly the way you imagine — or better.
Start Small.
You don’t need to change everything overnight.
Here’s what I suggest:
- Pick one or two recurring tasks that you hate doing each week.
- Ask yourself: How would it feel to never have to do them again?
- If you had a simple system to hand it over; would you try it?
If your answer is maybe, yes, or even “I’m curious…” then that’s enough. Let’s have a chat – no pressure or pushy pitch.
